Buy 6 or more and I’ll make it $7.99 per bottle – 50% off the regular price!!!
Despite being from Southwest France, this wine reminds me more of a New Zealand Sauv Blanc than the more grassy/herbaceous examples from the Loire. Aromas of pink grapefruit, guava, asian pear, flowers and banana dance from the glass, giving way to a crisp, refreshing wine. Somewhat creamy on the rounded finish, this is a pretty little number, perfect for quenching your thirst during these brutally hot days! If it lasts into dinner, I would pair this with salad, or a light fish dish.
Red Wine of the Week –
Fattoria del Cerro Chianti Colli Senesi 2009 – Sale $11.99 / reg. $14.99 – save 20%
Buy 6 or more and I’ll make it $10.49 per bottle – 30% off regular price!!
90 pts Wine Spectator
Under $15 for a 90 point Chianti? Not a whole lot of those out there… like only two others in the 2009 vintage…
But don’t just take their word for it… take ours! This is a delicious little Tuscan gem made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero (Adds perfume and roundness). It sees three months in oak to soften the edges, then is matured in bottle before release. The result? Pure Italian table wine heaven! Classic flavors of cherries, wild herbs and spices are backed up by lively acidity and some fine tannins. In fact, the tannins are solid enough to lend support to meat dishes, yet soft enough to allow this wine to play nicely with chicken, mushrooms and more medium bodied fare. A little chill on it, and this would be delightful with some chicken off the grill…
