Thirsty Thursday Tasting – Pinot Noir
Chapel Hill. Thursday 5-7 pm. Free!
This week were focusing on Pinot Noirs from the good ole USA. Starting with a new vintage of a killer value, we’ll then hit the top appellations from across California: a lush and juicy Russian River wine; a fresh and spicy Sonoma Coast bottling from our pal Schmitty; and then finish off the Golden state with the staff’s new favorite, absolutely stunning juice from Santa Barbara.
Can’t do a domestic Pinot tasting without a selection from Oregon, and I am excited to share a great wine from my friend Tony Soter, the man who started Etude and made wine at Araujo and Dalle Valle, Shafer, and Spottswoode, among others, before getting the Pinot bug and setting up shop in the Willamette Valley. He’s giving us a killer deal on this one too, so good we cannot advertise it our email, you’ll have to come by to find out! (OK, or you can email me if you want some but can’t make it by…)
All the wines will have sale prices at the tasting, here’s the lineup:
Dante Pinot Noir 2011 – reg. $11.99
Michael Pozzan Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2010 – reg. $18.99
Pali Wine Company Pinot Noir “Riviera” Sonoma Coast 2009 – reg. $24.99
