I have to say, it makes me happy so many people are discovering DRY Riesling. It has taken almost 20 years of fighting against the Liebfraumilch's and other sweet German cheapies that basically destroyed the grape's commercial reputation.

The 2020 Gobelsburger Riesling is, once again, positively radiant! This is BONE DRY, folks. Crunchy yellow peach, lime, barely-ripe apricot and a stony minerality lead the way, followed by a completely dry, zesty palate filled with tangy green apple and a prominent saline minerality. This is a sly little wine – deceptively simple at first – though as the wine opens up in the glass, there is a marked crescendo affect that takes place. Within just a few moments, this becomes gorgeous and nuanced, with a beautiful complexity of green plum, mineral, saffron, rosewater, and honeycomb.
"Attractive lemon and white-peach nose with hints of green apples and fresh herbs. Juicy, mid-weight palate with a lot of character and a lovely balance of warm elements and cool, minty undertones. Long, very harmonious finish." JS
What to pair with? Ah… that is the beauty of Riesling! The tight-wire acidity and penetrating fruit make it a wonderful match with light fish… and also chicken and pork… oh, and rich charcuterie and cheeses… it truly is a magical choice for pairing as virtually nothing is a bad choice!
