100% L.I.V.E. Certified (the top accreditation in Oregon for sustainable farming practices), this represents high quality Pinot Noir sourced from four, different sub-appellations of the Willamette Valley, most notably the Van Duzer, Yamhill Carlton, and Dundee Hills areas. Veteran winemaker James Cahill (previously at Beaux-Freres, Soter Vineyards, and Elk Cove) considers this vintage wine to be the best rendition yet bottled, and after we tasted it last week we are in full agreement!
This one hits down the middle of the fairway - not too heavy, nor is it light, just extremely well balanced and utterly drinkable. It’s immediately appealing with lifted aromatics of crushed blue and black fruits, hints of spice, and cocoa. On the palate the wine is medium bodied, juicy, lush and full of tantalizing fruit. Warm baking spices, plum and black cherry flavors linger on the finish. As you’d expect from a wine meant for restaurant pouts, this is incredibly versatile with food pairings. It's a natural with fish like salmon, tuna, or amberjack but also is a terrific pork wine. It even loves a good pepperoni pizza!
