Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying anyone NEEDS to find an alternative for Sauvignon Blanc. It is our 2nd biggest selling variety, and I have hundreds of cases on order to meet demand.

The Rueda region of Spain is known for accessible and affordable whites that consistently overdeliver. Relentlessly fun, yet with a serious edge for those craving complexity, the Verdejos of Rueda are a wonderful example of white wines that can excel on all fronts.
To make their wine extra fragrant and delicious, Torres uses cold fermentation, a notoriously finicky process that ultimately can produce fresher and more aromatic wines. To balance this vibrancy, they aged the wine for 2 months on the lees. These are the yeast cells that reman after fermentation. Contact with them imparts a rich, creamy mouthfeel to the wine. In all, this gem balances on the razor’s edge of vibrancy and concentration, somehow being crisp and tropical while maintaining an elegantly decadent and herbal finish.
