Located just a couple of miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyards for this gem are exposed to morning fogs and cool evening breezes that ensure bright acidity to balance the concentrated fruit.
Most compelling for me? The price tag…
In case you haven’t noticed, the prices of US Pinot Noirs have started to skyrocket. Other 95 pt Pinots routinely sell for $75 and up. And trust me, they are selling. And while I am happy to do so, I just feel so much more comfortable with this price point. We have limited supply. Grab while you can.
“The 2018 Pinot Noir Land's Edge Vineyards is another Sonoma Coast release from this great producer. Medium ruby/purple-hued, with an exotic bouquet of black cherries, blueberries, candied violets, and flowery incense, it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a juicy, racy mouthfeel, supple tannins, and a great finish.” JD
“From two vineyard sites just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, this wine is juicy in cranberry and pomegranate. Lifted accents of white pepper, orange peel and rose add complexity and nuance to the robust frame.” WE
“Land’s Edge Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards located at the ‘Land’s Edge’ of the Sonoma Coast AVA. The vineyards are driven by a maritime influence, producing a small but concentrated crop of Pinot Noir that is harvested in late September through mid-October. The foggy coastal climate preserves natural acidity in the grapes and helps delineate the purity of fruit flavors and expression of the unique coastal terroir in this wine. Balanced acidity, layers of complexity, and firm tannins will allow for long and graceful aging of Land’s Edge Vineyards Pinot Noir.” Winery note
