These are the sites that producers like Avennia and Gramercy Cellars use to make their 95+ rated single vineyard Syrahs that sell for $50+ a bottle and yet here we have one for under $20? Morgan treats the fruit gently, native yeast fermentation takes place in large 10% new 500 liter French oak puncheons, and the wine is aged 10 months prior to bottling. Pour yourself a glass and you’re in for a treat. Aromas of black and blue berries, with smoked meat, black olive, and wild herbs waft enticingly. A silky textured palate follows, filled with layers of dark fruits, and sneaky depth of flavor with some building tannins, and licks of spice, wild flowers and minerals leading into a long dry finish.
