Red Mountain is arguably Washington’s finest source for Cabernet Sauvignon. At night, cool air from the north sinks down the mountain into the Yakima River valley. Coupled with the elevation, these factors allow the vineyards to be planted with a southwestern exposition, resulting in almost two more hours a day of sunlight exposure than Napa Valley. Red Mountain is also located in a semi-arid desert, producing grapes up to 60% smaller than other regions. High skin to juice ratio yields powerful, tannic Cabernet with concentrated flavors.
