Inky ruby. Cherry preserves, black currant, vanilla, woodsmoke, pipe tobacco, and an exotic spice nuance on the highly expressive nose. Juicy, palate-staining red and dark berry preserves flavors possess a deft blend of richness and energy and pick up a floral note on the back half. Finishes smooth, sappy, and impressively long and precise, with even tannins and echoes of sweet dark berries and oak spices. Raised in French oak barrels, 70% of them new.
