"The 2022 Solomazuelo Amphora Aging was produced with Mazuelo/Cariñena grapes that ripened thoroughly without achieving too high alcohol (the wine is labeled as 13.5%) and keept good acidity and freshness, even in a warm year like 2020. It fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats and matured in raw clay amphorae (tinaja) for eight months. It starts with some dusty notes but soon opens up, revealing the floral characteristics that Mazuelo/Cariñena can sometimes have, delivering a mixture of elegance and rusticity that I like very much. The palate is balanced, with ripe tannins and clean flavors, quite primary indeed. 1,700 bottles were filled in August 2023." - Luis Gutierrez
