Made from Bobal... Go ahead, say it. “bo-ball”. Kid of fun, eh?
And fun is what you’re in for here! Who cares what the grape is? Or where it is from? (Manchuela, Spain if you do).
What's important here is what a ridiculously good value this is. Oh, and a ridiculously good wine! 93-94 pts for under $20? Yahoo!
Aromas of violets, cherries and currants explode from the glass, leading into a medium-bodied mouthful of fruit. It's bright and vibrant... easy going down, but with just enough tannins to make this a world class food wine! And what food? I would swipe right for paella! Dealer's choice, but sausage and chicken, studded with some black olives would be divine for this rainy weekend.
Decanter
From a single vineyard of old-vine Bobal, this offers so much wine for your money. Bright, vibrant, fruity aromas pop from the glass: glistening cherries and little redcurrants, while the palate shows a darker side to the fruit. Blackberries, spiced plums, cocoa powder and dark chocolate characters are lifted by a sprig of freshly picked mint. Such a drinkable wine that’s also delicate and refined. (94 points 2022 vintage)
