Like we often say, when you love a wine, see what their neighbors are doing. You can find some incredible deals just across the lane from the more renowned, and more expensive, sub-regions. Edna Valley AVA is a small, cool-climate sub-region of California’s Central Coast just south of San Luis Obispo city and benefiting hugely from the misty winds coming from the Pacific Ocean. This extends the regions growing period and produces some of the most balanced Burgundian varieties that come from the West Coast. Fossil Point sees no reason to corrupt the fruit, so they age it in only neutral oak barrels for a soft and expressive palate. This wine is mind-boggling for less than $20.
Fossil Point Description
The 2021 growing season carried a very small amount of crop - the resulting small clusters made wines that were much more intense and structured than usual. We relied proportionately more upon our own estate-grown fruit, making for a dense, fruit-driven wine that gives a great deal of pleasure. We are especially pleased with this vintage, and are excited for you to share it at your table!

Solid and bold, this Pinot Noir is a great value for how good it is. Aromas of muddled cherry, black plum, clove and star anise lead into an attention-grabbing palate full of rich strawberry, sage and balanced licorice flavors.
