This wine was judged along with 141 other New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs against each other, not against Sancerre or white Bordeaux or others. So, what the judges are saying is… for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, this is about as good as it can possibly get! Other names you might be familiar with that this baby outscored include Kim Crawford (88 pts), Lawson's Dry Hills (86 pts), Nobilo Icon (90), Villa Maria (88) and others!

It’s everything you want it to be, and exactly what you expect it to be – light, crisp and clean. Zingy acidity and flavors of passion fruit, lime and gooseberries. Hint of floral aromas add complexity. But really, do you need something complex here? Just twist off the top and have at it! Oh? A glass? I suppose… but what I really want is one of those hats with the curly drinking straws!
