"Clone 76 from Gran Moraine Vineyard in the Yamhill Carlton is listed as a Willamette Valley wine, and at around $35, this wine punches way above its price point. Honeyed aromatics of apricot collide with bright notes of ginger, seaspray and lemon pith. The palate offers fleshy citrus cream and a salted lemon peel streak that bounds into chipped flint minerality. The entire affiar is bright and airy, with a stony grip that lifts rich citrus fruit. The 2022 Chardonnay Classic is wonderfully floral, with masses of crushed stones and dusty dried flowers giving way to lime-tinged peach. It opens with saline and citrus as crisp orchard fruits cascade throughout. It finishes remarkably fresh, literally mouth-watering, leaving a salty flourish and hints of spice. While not labeled as such, the 2021 hails entirely from the Gran Moraine Vineyard.
