Jeb Dunnuck says this is reminiscent of an Aubert Chardonnay... I'll have to take his word for it, as I have never laid eyes on a a bottle. Heck, the average price for an Aubert ENTRY-LEVEL offering is over $100 per bottle!!! Holy smokes, this is a seriously good value. Buy it by the truckload - that's what I am doing!
Man oh man… do I love Novellum! A long-favorite, the Novellum Chardonnay is a perfect marriage of raw materials and winemaking. From the south of France, the grapes come from 30 year old vines – an age beyond rare for the variety. Taking these concentrated grapes, the winemaker ages the wine on the skins from Viognier, imparting a honeysuckle and peach scent to the wine. Apples and melon flavors are at once creamy and snappy, giving a sense of refreshment and satisfaction. Ah heck… it’s good. Drink up!
