"The 2018 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Campolive is fabulous. Rich and layered, yet also light on its feet, the 2018 is compelling right out of the gate. Older readers will remember the days when Campolive was virtually black in color, jammy and oaky. Today's Campolive delivers plenty of flavor intensity, but with far more elegance and class. Ripe red cherry/plum, spice, blood orange, cinnamon and rose petal meld into the finish. This is a fabulous showing in a vintage that was not especially favorable for Barbera. Gorgeous.”
