"Sweet herbs and clove complement a cherry and plum sauce mix as the darkly alluring 2019 Sangiovese Romagna Superiore Petrignone blossoms in the glass. This washes easily across the palate yet quickly gains tension as a staining of minerality settles in under a wave of ripe red and blue berries. Violet and lavender tones are left lingering over a coating of fine tannins. The 2019 finishes long, structured and balanced. A citrus note slowly fades. There’s a lot of medium-term potential here. The Petrignone matures in large, neutral thirty-hectoliter barrels for nine months." - Eric Guido
