"Can Sumoi is a minimal intervention project run by Pepe Raventós based around biodynamically grown grapes from Penedès, favoring ancestral varieties. The high-altitude vineyards are spread across several parcels in Serra del Home, in the Montmell region. The Xarel·lo, Montónega and Sumoll grapes produce a pure, direct and minimal intervention style of wines, which is both well-conceived and executed.
The 2023 Xarel·lo Serra de L'Home hails from old vines planted in Costers de Montmell, Penedès. Fermented in concrete vats, it delivers notes of pear, green apple and herbs. Flowing with balanced acidity, it juxtaposes an ethereal mouthfeel against ample concentration—a unique and tasty white." - Joaquín Hidalgo
