City Limits is the brain child of winemaker Morgan Lee, produced as a side project at his boutique and highly acclaimed Two Vintners Winery in Maltby, Washington. “Created to bring the beauty of high quality Washington wine to your table at an everyday price.” Don’t ask me where the ‘Street Art’ cuvee name comes from but I can tell you where the fruit does, Boushey, Les Collines, and Pepper Bridge - three of the finest Syrah vineyards in Washington’s Columbia Valley! These are the sites that producers like Avennia and Gramercy Cellars use to make their 95+ rated single vineyard Syrahs that sell for $50+ a bottle and yet here we have one for under $20? No wonder this stuff is so good! Morgan treats the fruit gently, native yeast fermentation takes place in large 10% new 500 liter French oak puncheons, and the wine is aged 10 months prior to bottling. Pour yourself a glass and you’re in for a treat. Aromas of black and blue berries, with smoked meat, black olive, and wild herbs waft enticingly. A silky textured palate follows, filled with layers of dark fruits, and sneaky depth of flavor with some building tannins, and licks of spice, wild flowers and minerals leading into a long dry finish. Grilling season is upon us. This would be great with everything from lamb chops to impossible burgers. Load up while you can, here’s your go-to Syrah for spring, summer, and beyond.
“Okay team, this bottle of 2020 Street Art Syrah from City Limits is the best bang for the buck bottle of Syrah I've had from Washington. Ever. It's chock full of aromas of blueberry, smoked meat, blackberry and herb with intense, layered flavors. It drinks like a $40+ wine. It's $20 and can be found in some places for less. For those not familiar, City Limits is a side project for Morgan Lee at Two Vintners Winery in Maltby. It's very clear that some high, high quality juice went into this bottle.” – Sean P Sullivan, Washington Wine Report

"Appealing aromas of blueberry, blackberry, smoked meat and herb lead to savory and blue fruit flavors. The palate shows intensity, layering and depth, leading to a long, flower-filled finish, bringing some tannic heft. It's hard to believe this much goodness comes in a bottle at this price."
